FAYE is a device that was conceptualized and built as a part of Kintsugi Design’s Project Menopause. During Project Menopause, Kintsugi Design identified and investigated multiple areas affecting women as they transcend into their menopause. Our ambition is to user technology to meaningfully empower women during menopause. (#Menotech).
FAYE is a home interior art piece and communication tool conceptualized and prototyped as part of the work done by Kintsugi Design interns Keshav Koduvayur and Thøger Kappel. Through our work and research in menopause, we came to understand that many menopausal people are often taking on (or expected to take on) the role of caretaker to the extent that their own wellbeing is often neglected. There was a lack of empathy due to the stigma surrounding menopause. We wanted to explore what would happen if the roles of being caretaker and caregiver were flipped and thus we created FAYE.
